Heads up: Ubisoft had one of their websites compromised, which lead to illegal access of user information such as user names, e-mail and passwords. If you watch your mail box like a hawk as we do, you probably already received their automated message to reset your password. To those that didn’t get it yet: It’s being advised to change your password on the company’s site, as well as everywhere else where you use the same thing.
You’ve never registered to their website, you say? That doesn’t really matter, as you’re still tied to your Uplay account. If you’ve played Assassin’s Creed or any other big Ubisoft title, you have an account there.
Last year, the company’s shady PC presence with their Uplay system was brought to light when someone discovered a backdoor in over 20 of their games. This could provide anyone with nefarious intent access to your computer. Ubisoft brushed it off as an accident and promptly patched it. It seems they still have a few patches to go.
